InformationThe first Russian Game Developers Conference - KRI - took place on March 21-21, 2003 in Moscow. Located in a famous Moscow State University, KRI 2003 gathered around 1000 attendants, both from the CIS countries and abroad. It was a remarkable success that couldn't be envisioned by organizers themselves. It's obvious now that national gaming industry desperately needed an event of this kind and caliber, since everything that was prepared for the first KRI - starting from mini-exhibition to lectures and KRI Awards - was given a heartily welcome from professional community. During two days, game developers were able to visit 55 lectures on various topics, participate in Projects Fair, check for a new job opportunity at the Jobs Fair, or just have a friendly chat with a fellow programmer at the mini-exhibition, where developers showed off their latest works. And don't forget the titans - Intel, Ati, Nvidia, Renderware were also present at the conference, sharing their knowledge with local developers. The destiny of KRI 2004 was foregone. On the next year, KRI Conference shifted to February, grew larger, and moved to the lobbies of hotel "Kosmos". The success of the previous event elevated the status of the Conference, which was expected to become bigger and even more professional. KRI 2004 featured enlarged Projects Fair, where developers could find a publisher for their project right on site. The number of registered participants grew to 1300. KRI 2004 was also widely covered in media, with over 140 publications in the press and 10 appearances on federal and region TV channels. Today, KRI is the most popular and trendy event for game developers in the former USSR. Annually, it is being visited by representatives of over 200 companies from Russia, CIS, Baltic states and western countries. Over 90% of KRI participants are directly related to game industry, while 80% are directly involved in game development. In the frames of the Conference, unique KRI Awards contest is being held, the only professional prize bestowed by developers themselves and given to individuals and companies for outstanding achievements for the current year. KRI Organizing Committee is always open to collaboration with developers and publishers, hardware manufacturers and other companies that are interested in participating in the Conference.
